Teignmouth is a great place to enjoy water sports. There's the beach front for sea swimming, kayaking, sailing or even surfing (when there's a swell) and then there's the back beach where you can mess about on boats or paddle boards on the river.

For tuition and equipment hire, go to SeaSports South West on the back beach by the Newquay Inn.

This professional water sports centre offers courses in windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing and sells and hires equipment to help you enjoy the water safely.

Bringing the best of British, Independent and Foreign Films to Teignmouth.

This non-profit organisation is run by volunteers.

Films are shown in the Arts Centre at Teignmouth Community School (Exeter Road site) on the third Friday of the month. Doors open at 7pm and the screenings start at 8pm.

Refreshments are sourced, where possible, from local, ethical and Fair Trade suppliers.

Membership is £30 per year (£25 concessions) and enables you to attend the year's screenings from April to March for just £2.50. It also means you can take part in the film selection night where the films to be screened are chosen.

Children under 16 can attend suitable films for free when accompanied by an adult. All students of Teignmouth Community College are able to attend suitable screenings on production of a college ID card. (Age restrictions will sometimes apply depending on film classification.)

Screenings are also open to non-members. Entry for individual screenings is £5 (£4 for concessions – unwaged or low income & on receipt of benefits).
