7 Half term activities for children

Half term has arrived. There are plenty of activities on offer to keep your children occupied. Here are seven ideas:

Get crafty at Teignmouth Library. There are free craft activities every morning through half term (except Thursday) from 11am-12noon. Grown ups can join in with adult colouring too!
Monday – paper pumpkins
Tuesday – decorative bats
Wednesday – moon bats
Friday – cat masks

Dawlish Warren Junior Rangers – Ravishing Raptors. Wednesday 28 October 1.30pm-3pm. Free event suitable for children age 7-11. Find out more about birds of prey. Call 01626 863980 to book.

Teignmouth Guy Fawkes Trail. October 26-November 1. Grab an entry form from Peanuts, The Oystercatcher or Teignmouth Tourist Information Office and note down the names of all the Guys in Teignmouth’s shops.

Dawlish Pumpkin Trail. October 26-November 3. Find all the names of the pumpkins located in the shops around Dawlish and be in with the chance to win a prize. Free entry.

Fancy Dress and Pumpkin Decorating Competition. 1pm Saturday 31 October. Bring your scariest costumes and your most inventive pumpkins to the TAAG Centre in Northumberland Place where they will be judged by the Arts Quarter Artistes.

Exeter City Football Club Football In The Community Half Term Soccer Roadshow. Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October 10am-3pm at Teignmouth Community School Astroturf. Football fun for children age 5-14. £20.

Fright Night at Shaldon Zoo. Saturday 31 October 3pm-6pm. Pumpkin carving, a quiz and a wand making workshop plus a bonfire with toasted marshmallows, beastly burgers and drinks on Ness Beach. There will also be a chance to feed the meerkats. £4.50
